In 1940 the foreign service: up to 1941 headed the department of American countries, with the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of the USSR in Canada (1944-1946), the UK (1946-1952), the U.S. (1952- 1958). Since 1958, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the USSR. Candidate member of the CPSU Central Committee (1952-1958).
