SMITHLAND, Ky. ­ Funeral services for Dallas F. Maxfield, 88, were held Jan. 7, 2004 at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial was in McMurray Chapel Cemetery. Rev. E.J. Hatton and Rev. James R. Maxfield officiated.

Mr. Maxfield died Jan. 5 2004 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He was an active member of McMurray Chapel Methodist Church, a member of Smithland Masonic Lodge and was a Gideon, veteran of World War II and active member of the American Legion in Burna. He was a boilermaker for 40 years.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Emma P. Maxfield of Smithland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ora Love Maxfield; a sister; and four brothers.
