Funeral services for Kenneth A Eyer, 91 of Creighton, were held Saturday, February, 7, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Creighton.

Reverend Ken Purscell officiated the 2 p.m. service with interment in the Brunswick Cemetery.

Vocalist Duane Christiansen was accompanied by organists Margaret Sorensen and Dennis Lichty.

Serving as pallbearers were: Larry Filkins. Dennis Lichty, Larry Llchty, LaRue Johnston, Lester Anson and Robert Johnston.

Honorary pallbearers included Russell Sorensen, Francis Reynolds, Neal Kimble, Arlow Lichty, Clayton Meisner. Lee George and Malvan Olson.

Brockhaus Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Austin Eyer, son of Ray and Lula (Butterfield) Eyer, was born April 22, 1912, in Orchard. Nebraska.

He attended Orchard High School. He farmed and worked with is father before his marriage. He was married to Jane Lichty on October 5. 1932, at Yankton, South Dakota. The couple farmed for many years in the Brunswick and Royal area. In 1963 they moved to Creighton.

Kenneth was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and was active in its organizations, serving as a District Lay Leader for 18 years. He was involved in many community and political organizations, and served as mayor of Creighton for six years, from 1968 to 1974.

He passed away January 30, 2004, at the Creighton Care Centre at the age of 91.

He is survived by a daughter, Janice James, of St.Cloud. MN.; a son, Ken Eyer. of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; two granddaughters, Stephanie Lucas of Overland Park. KS., and Stacie Bowers of Shawnee. KS.; four great-grandchildren. Candace and Conner Lucas, Kendal Reese, and Dustin Bowers; nephews, Richard, Robert and Delos Jr. of Los Angeles. CA., LaRue and Bobby Johston of Royal and nieces, Darla Post of Hollywood, CA, and Delona Eyer of Los Angeles. CA, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed and loved by his family, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jane on September 19, 2002 and brothers, Ross and Delos.

The family suggests memorials to the Creighton Public Library. the Methodist Church. or Creighton Care Centre.
