Aviation Radioman, Second Class, Bombing Squadron II, U.S. Naval Reserve. Missing in Action; his parents received notice that his plane was shot down over the Pacific on 03 July 1944.


Eugene was the son of John Richard Swaim and Sarah Margaret Grimes Swaim. Maternal grandparents were Luther Alexander Grimes and Margaret Caroline Lett Grimes.


His siblings included Fay Swaim Harmon, Ruby Lee Swaim Willa, Richard Floyd Swaim, Johnnie May Swaim, Charles Lesley Swaim and Margaret Sue Swaim.

There is also a memorial in Oakland Cemetery, Little Rock, Arkansas in the Swaim family plot.
