Emory, son of Townsend I. Lounsbury and Mary Dean, married Gladys I. Perry, daughter of Nelson A. Perry and Georgiana R. Topping, in Cass City, Tuscola County, Michigan on June 12, 1912.

Emory and Gladys had nine known children:

1) Leslie Emory Lounsbury (1913-1998);
2) Lyle Arza Lounsbury (1916-2001);
3) Norris Perry Lounsbury (1918-1940);
4) Jessie E. Lounsbury (1920-?), who married Alfred Goodall;
5) Ruth Esther Lounsbury (1922-1940);
6) Harland Lounsbury (1924-2012);
7) Vera A. Lounsbury (1926-?), who married Lorn Brinkman;
8) Carol Lounsbury (1930-?), who married Bernard Partlo;
9) Lynn Clark Lounsbury (1934-1950).

Lifetime Resident of Community Dies

Emory Lounsbury, a lifetime resident of the community, died Friday, Sept. 16, [1960], at Hills and Dales Hospital, where he had been a patient 10 days. He had been in poor health for four years.

Mr. Lounsbury was born in Sanilac County May 6, 1893, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Townsend Lounsbury. He married Miss Gladys Perry in Elmwood Township June 12, 1912. They have lived on a farm in Elmwood Township since their marriage.

Mr. Lounsbury was a member of the Sunshine Methodist church.

He leaves his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Goodall of Cass City, Mrs. Loren Brinkman of Southfield and Mrs. Fred Strecker of Saginaw; three sons, Leslie and Harland, both of Cass City, and Lyle of Royal Oak; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Livingston of Gagetown and Mrs. Calvin Hiser of Caro; 19 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, one daughter, one brother and three sisters died previously.

The Rev. Alfred Gascho officiated at funeral services at Little's Funeral Home Sunday afternoon. Burial was in Elkland Cemetery.
