Former Salida resident Myrna A. Van Camp, 84, of Montrose died Oct. 27, 2012, at the San Juan Living Center in Montrose.

She was born Sept. 5, 1928, in rural Macon, Neb., to Herman and Ella (Frericks) Adam.

She was baptized Sept. 20, 1928, and later confirmed on April 18, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church near Macon.

She grew up in the Macon area and attended school at District 25.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1945 and taught at one-room rural schools in Franklin County for 10 years.

She married Ralph Van Camp on March 29, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church.

They lived in various Nebraska towns while following his career with the Bureau of Reclamation, beginning with Franklin in 1952, Trenton in 1956, McCook in 1957 and Grand Island in 1959.

In 1965 they moved to Colorado when her husband was transferred to Salida, where he retired in 1985.

While in Salida, Mrs. Van Camp worked for the Colorado Lodge until 1994, when the couple moved to Loveland.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland.

Mrs. Van Camp was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Donald Adam, Harold Adam and Herman Adam; sisters Caroline Badsteen and Helen Bayne; brother-in-law, Ray Badsteen; and nieces Teresa Loschen, Courtney Adam, Lisa Badsteen and Julie Lutt.

Survivors include her son, Marvin (Karina) Van Camp of Littleton; daughter, Sheryll (Paul) Sampson of Montrose; grandsons, Bryan Sampson of Montrose and Jonathan Sampson of Fort Collins; sister, Marietta (Denis) Blank of Lincoln, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Mildred Adam of Hildreth, Neb., Connie Adam of Kearney, Neb., and Eunice Adam of Franklin, Neb.; and brother-in-law, Deryl Bayne of Grand Island, Neb.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Nov. 5, 2012, at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Loveland, followed by services at 10 a.m. with Pastor Al Schroeder of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow.

A luncheon will be served immediately following in the reception center adjacent to the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland.

Arrangements are with Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens of Fort Collins.
