Michael was a wonderful 15 year old, he was just getting over the "know it all" teenager stage and coming back to me. We were just getting back to having big conversations over tea at the table. He was always a polite, friendly child and never really complained. He was forever smiling. How I miss his smile.

He was the big brother and he didn't want Tom, his little brother, to follow him or play his games. Michael had told me why he didn't want Tom to play them. He knew Thomas was a better player than he was so he didn't let him play them at all. When Michael died Thomas thought Michael didn't like him. I had to tell him what Michael never did. Thomas's birthday was 5 days before Michael passed and for the first time he signed his card "Love," Michael.

Michael was a helpful, funny, inquisitive boy. He loved music. He had just made 1st violin in school and he was proud of the success he had become. One day after school on the way to the store he had news for me but wouldn't tell me, I had to guess. I guessed correctly and then he told me "I did it all by myself, you never got me private lessons." He never wanted them. Michael also played the guitar and the piano.

Michael was a great friend. His best friend said at his memorial that he was waiting for Michael to do the great things he was put here for. We were all waiting. Michael was brilliant there was something very special about him.

He was sick for 10 days before he died. Since all children get sick, we didn't think it was so serious. He was getting better by the 6th day but on the 7th day, he wasn't feeling well again so I brought him back to the doctor where he was diagnosed with the flu. We found out later that it wasn't the flu, his autopsy states he died of myocarditis.

Losing Michael has been earth shattering for our family. I think about him all the time and miss him more than words can say. Michael has taken a piece of my heart with him.
I know I will see him in heaven one day. Until then, I will keep him in my heart always.

I love you Michael.
