Maggie was born to William and Mary Jo (Walker) Branch. Her father was hospitalized when Maggie was not yet two years old. Her mother died when she was only five and a half years old. She was placed in the Oxford Orphans Asylum on Aug. 12, 1898 along with her brother James.
On Dec. 22, 1910, she married Luke Loyd in Lenoir, NC.
Maggie was one of the many victims of the "Spanish Flu" pandemic. She left three small children.
