Bio

As a preacher's kid, I spent plenty of time, even as a child, in cemeteries. At first it was for funerals, Decoration Day, or work days to clean up the weeds in the church cemetery.

From that I developed my own love of strolling through cemeteries, paying my respects, reading the interesting information on tombstones, and enjoying the peace, quiet and unique beauty in each cemetery.

Now I have the added joy of studying my families' genealogy. I only wish I had had the time to do it when my parents and grandmothers were alive to reap the benefits with me. Find A Grave has been a wonderful asset to my research, and has even helped me find a couple of new cousins. It has also given me great comfort in being able to add memorials and photos for family members. It has also been a great satisfaction to add memorial for friends and even perfect strangers.

Please remember when addressing another contributor that common courtesy is very important. Acknowledging the time and effort that contributor put into making a memorial, using phrases like "please" and "thank you" is received much better than "do this because I said so"! Also, please explain exactly how you are related to the deceased, and remember that you may not be the only person who has requested a transfer. Please be advised that I will NOT do transfers for "give me this memorial because..." Doing all transfers is at the discretion of the original contributor, and transfers for other than immediate family, per Find A Grave standards, is totally up to the original contributor. Courtesy, kindness and a thank you note, whether or not you receive the transfer, are always welcome. Please remember that you can add pictures to a memorial without a transfer, and can update it by submitting proper information to the original contributor.

If you would me to update a memorial, please submit a proper S.A.C.,("Suggest A Correction), which you will find by clicking the edit tab, then choosing one of the edit options and that will link me directly to the memorial and any others involved. Please also provide any proof you have available as well. I try to be as accurate as possible. I am only human and sometimes make mistakes. If you find a mistake, please let me know. I will gladly correct it as soon as possible. If you want the state, county of birth, county of death etc. added to a memorial, I will be glad to add that information if you send it to me.

Having said that, this is copied from a fellow graver: "Get out and photograph memorials while they are still readable. This site is primarily for GRAVE photos not genealogy, preserve those memories that are quickly fading."

**My schedule is tight right now with the holidays, plus I have been extremely ill recently. I am also doing full-time volunteer work at a local hospital. If you send me an S.A.C. and I don't respond quickly, it's because my time is not my own at the moment. I have your requests in a file and will work on them as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
