Started looking for family roots and building a family tree. wow!, can this lead in all directions. Wales line mostly. but also Brown. and others connected to my wife and my family. If I have recorded a memorial of a person you are related to, and they are not part of my, or my wife's extended family, I will happily transfer management over to you, just ask! I do this to help others find their family and links. My pictures are free to use in your family research, Just ask! Will try my best to add additions, or corrections, info as I have time, especialy with large bio's, please use "edit" tab, Larry.
Remember, memorials that I have added, some of them are from other readings, or cemetery records, and I have not personally checked each memorial out for accuracy, and I have found errors when I take pictures of stones. So use the memorials that I have added to help find your ancestors, but remember there may be inaccuracies, especially with name spelling, dates, ages, or maybe they have a stone in two different cemetery's, or have been moved to a different cemetery. ( more common than you would think, especially with the older cemetery's and stones).
"Note": Cortland Rural Cemetery, (RFAC), abbreviation for: (from field research, must have been)" Removed From Another Cemetery", (no information as to original cemetery), and placed in Cortland Rural Cemetery after it opened, around 1854-1855. At least three earlier Grave yards in Cortland were removed to Cortland Rural Cemetery, in late 1860"s, including the Village Cemetery that was moved to make way for the Normal School, and was where the County Court House now stands. Also, Methodist Burial Grounds. These entries are from the Cortland Rural Cemetery records on file at; and research at; the Cortland Historical Society, and contain all the information that I have found so far. The only problem is, we may have earlier readings of other cemetery's that record these same burials before they were moved. So the hunt begins. This work is still ongoing.
