Flowers left for John Garner
Cactus Jack, I am sorry you did not have a chance to run for President in 1940. Instead, your boss stood for a third term. You agreed to run as Vice President in 1932 to break a deadlock at the Democratic convention. In so doing, you subsequently won election to an office that wasn't as nearly as powerful as the Speakership of the House of Representatives you held at the time of the Democratic convention. You served as Vice President for two terms and later said that it wasn't worth a pitcher of warm spit(According to some other sources, you used the other 4 letter word that starts with s and ends with a t). I commend you for your many years of public service on behalf of our Republic.
