Flowers left for George Folsey
When I first met George Folsey in 1979, I was awe struck, as he was going to be my mentor and teacher at The American Film Institute. I felt honored to have had him for a teacher as he taught me so much in lighting and how to light. George was a wealth of knowledge. IN addition, as a child, I had seen many of his films without realizing at that time, I would have him as a teacher. Upon graduating from AFI, he invited me to lunch and to hit some balls at golf. Well, to say the least, he was not too impressed with my golf playing.I have thought of George Folsey often over the years. After 15 years, of working in the industry, I decided to leave LA. George Folsey inspired me as a Cinematographer. I will never forget him.Thank you Mr. Folsey for allowing me to come into your class, as I will never forget you. I just enjoyed being around you as it was truly and honor and pleasure. RIP my dear friend...
