Flowers left for Elizabeth Biggs
Mrs Elizabeth e Biggs died at 6:30 o’clock yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs M H Timberlake, 874 Columbia street, from neuralgia of the heart. She was conscious until within a short time of her death and the end was peaceful. Mrs Biggs was born near Baltimore, Md., on March 2, 1830, and was married to Benjamin Biggs in 1849. They came to this city in 1851 and Mr Biggs died in 1883, Mr Biggs was engaged in the manufacturing business here for years and was the founder of the B F Biggs Pump company. Mrs Biggs is survived by two daughters, Mrs M H Timberlake, of this city, and Mrs Frank E Shockey, of Algonac, Michigan. Mrs Biggs was one of the oldest members of Trinity church. She took a great deal of interest in missions and was an active member of the Missionary society. She was one of the best known women in Lafayette, and her life was a useful one. She was admired for her lofty character and had many friends. The funeral will be concocted from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. The burial will be in Springvale cemetery and will be private. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
