Flowers left for James Barry
To those who don't understand why she did it or maybe misunderstand the reason she did it: It had nothing to do with a woman prefering to live life as a man.Think about it people-in the late 1700's and early 1800's women were not ALLOWED to practice medicine or just about any other job outside of being a housewife and mother. About the only job available to them was schoolteacher, and even then they had to be single. That being said, I think this lady was courageous and brilliant. She wanted to be a doctor and help others and she didn't let anyone or anything stop her. God has a special place in heaven for her.
