Flowers left for Meriwether Thompson
Full name: Meriwether Jeff Thompson, a Confederate-American prisoner of war of Missouri. On 21 June, 1864 he and others were confined in underground cell of Fort Delaware, chained to a swivel ring in the center of the cell. Cell was 8'square and there they lay without any light from 21June--4th July. 1 1/2 cup of water & 1/2 loaf of prison bread was their ration for 24 hrs.
