Flowers left for Philip Sheridan
Mr. General Sir: I have known for decades about Sheridan Drive in Arlington National Cemetery--it's where the Kennedy Gravesites are located. However, along with my recent study of the Civil War(Lincoln, Grant, Sherman) I have finally found out about you. When I heard about your service in the Western Theatre and your move to assist Grant against Lee I suspected that it was you that this important area in this hallowed ground of Arlington was named after you. I am a history buff. Words cannot express my sincere gratitude for everything you have done for the Union. Along, with many others(Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, et.al) MANY SALUTES ALL AROUND!! Happy Easter too!
