Flowers left for Walter Knott
Growing up in the 1950's and spending a lot of time at Knott's Berry Farm may not have been heaven...but it was darn close. I miss Old MacDonald's farm with the piano playing chicken(a few of Jungle Island's wooden critters found their way over to Old MacDonald's, too) the merry-go-round swing pulled by the mule, Serrano the educated horse, the seal pool, the organ grinder, the bee exhibit, the glow in the dark rocks and the glow in the dark Jesus from the Chapel of Reflections, the wagon train diorama, the haunted shack, the burro ride...I could go on and on. It was lovely. A new book written by Jay Jennings is out called "Knotts Berry Farm: The Early Years"...I'm in line for a copy. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Knott...thanks for the memories.
