MILDRED RUTH WITCHER DAIL
EDEN - Mildred Ruth Witcher Dail went to be with the Lord on
Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on
Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Eden, Texas, and
interment will follow at the Eden City Cemetery. Mildred was born on
July 13, 1920, in Gatesville, Texas. After graduating from Gatesville
High School, she attended Texas State College for Women in Denton,
where she received a degree in Home Economics. On Sept. 13, 1941, she
married Robert Dennis Dail. They started their life together in
Dallas where she worked for Dallas Power and Light as a home
economist. They later moved to the family ranch in Melvin and started
their family. As a result of the drought, the family moved to Eden in
1956. She taught in the public school system for more than 30 years.
Her Christian faith was evident through her compassion and generosity
toward people and animals, especially cats. Mildred taught Sunday
school for more than 40 years. She will be remembered for her
wonderful cooking and her fabulous homemade bread and rolls. She was
preceded in death by one son, Patrick Seth; and her husband, Dennis.
She is survived by one son, Mikel Dennis Dail and wife Dianna of
Mason; a daughter, Deborah Nicks and husband Jerry of Grapevine,
Texas; a sister, Jewell Stiver and husband Edward of Waco, Texas;
five granddaughters, Tamra Johnston and husband Kendal of Abilene,
Texas, Jeri Langehennig and husband Joe David of Magnolia, Carrie
Riordan and husband Pat of Topeka, Kan., Liz Johnson and husband Rich
of Trenton, Mo., and Amy McGhee of Palestine; four great-
granddaughters, Taylor Johnston, Hailey Johnson and Tiffany and Zoe
McGhee; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials can be
sent to your favorite charity.
