Niobe was daughter of Abel & Sarah "Sally" (Foster) Franklin.

2nd wife of Jonathan Allen "AKA Allen F." Boomer. Allen first married Perline Snow and had 7 children (All born in Jefferson Co., NY) then after her death in 1827, he remarried to Niobe Franklin and Niobe bore 14 children.

Niobe was the 2nd great-grandneice of Benjamin Franklin.

Died of Old Age
Mrs Niobe Boomer, the mother of Mrs J E Cronk, died at the residence of Mr Cronk, this afternoon at 1'30 of old age. Mrs Boomer was born in the state of New York, in 1810, and if she had lived till the 11th of January she would have been 94 years old. At this writing no arrangements have been made for the funeral. Northwestern Dec 31, 1903

BIOGRAPHY: Allen and Niobe were from New York. Allen was a drummer boy in the war of 1812. Niobe was a decendent of Benjamin Franklin. Her grandfather was a second cousin. Allen Boomer was a ship captain on the Lakes in his younger days. He was married twice. His first wife's maiden name was Snow. They had two boys, Orris and Albert. Orris, the younger, was the father of Albert, Lyman, Allen, Grant, George, Perlina Bowers, Hattie Hendrickson, May House, Emily Boomer, Minnie Cole, and Nora Peavler.
BIOGRAPHY: Allen and Niobe had ten children. Niobe, Frederick, Allen, Lottie, Jasper, Clayton, Walter, Ben, Florence, Hulbert, and Mary. None of them are now living. Allen settled in Boone Country, Illinois. He hauled his wheat to Chicago, seventy-five miles, with team and wagon. It took a week to make the trip. He accumulated enough to make him comfortable in his declining years. After he passed away, Niobe stayed with her children. Her grandchildren loved when grandma came to visit. She was such a lovely old lady, always in good humor, and a devout christian, always putting her trust in God. Her daughter Mary was crippled in her back and never married. She traveled with her mother. Mary lived to be ninety years old.
