Charles married, 11 Nov 1855, Elizabeth J "Bettie" Locklin, a daughter of Samuel G Locklin and Rebecca B Stephens. After the death of Bettie in 1874, Charles later married Bettie's sister, Judieth Harden Locklin, on 30 Jan 1881 in Oconee Co., GA.

Father of (by Bettie) Sarah Elizabeth, *H S, Mary Beulah, William T, Charles Alexander and *N R Evans.

Father of (by Judieth) Robert Harden and Vallie Dee Evans.

Grandson of David Hannah Griffeth and Sarah Eberhart.

*It is pure speculation on my part, but I believe the initials H. S. are for Henry Samuel and that he was probably named after both of his grandfathers, Henry D Evans and Samuel G Locklin. Additionally and again, it is speculation that the daughter, N. R. are for Nancy Rebecca in that she was probably named after both of her grandmothers, Nancy Griffeth Evans and Rebecca B Stephens Locklin.
