My daughter who is also my only child died at age 14 from a ruptured spleen that happened after a stunt gone wrong. She was in Tewksbury at East Elite Gym with her High School Team she just entered which started before school started, The Medford Mustangs Varsity Team and Competition Team. Ashley didn't even have to try out, she was well known as being an experienced and committed cheerleader. The coach, Julie Brown, had to call 911 twice before anyone showed, which was 30 minutes later.Tewksbury never responded but North Andover did, but it was too late.I was told by the hospital she was DOA when she arrived.I had 3 lawyers and all of them said I didn't have a case but in my heart I know I do but no one wants the case which infuriates me but nothing I can do about it.I have recently took all of the ideas Ashley had that would make the cheerleaders safer as well as my ideas to conferences in a few states about these ideas I call Ashley's Law.I am not your typical cheer mom, I was never a cheerleader but supported my baby in whatever she wanted to do and she truly loved cheering.Soon a book is coming out about her and safety guidelines that should be mandatory all over the world which as of now there isn't.I believe Ashley is the face of Cheerleading safety because even now they will flash her picture on the screen everytime a cheerleader gets injured. She was national and International News and the media hounded me after her death, which was awful. Some stations much better than others, Fox 25 and the local Newspaper the Medford Mercury. If you google her name you'll find many web sites about her.I miss my baby, she is all I had and pray god takes me soon because I am sick of living without her.Rest in Peace my baby Ashley I will love you always....Mom.
