I've visited Fort Morgan in Alabama many times and it's quite an interesting place. You had a huge battle on your hands, Admiral, but came through it victorious. Angel Day Blessings and rest in eternal peace!

Honoring your 57 years of service in the Union Navy, and your decisive victory 150 years ago this month at the Battle of Mobile Day in Alabama. Born in Tennessee in 1801, to a mother from North Carolina, and a father from Minorca, Spain, you were loyal to your country and contributed through your exemplary service and sacrifices to the reunification of the United States and the abolition of slavery. Rest in peace, honored warrior!

The victory at Mobile Bay was the first of the series (followed by the fall of Atlanta and Sheridan's victory at Cedar's Creek) that guaranteed Lincoln's reelection. Thank you for your great naval successes.
