Nancy (Henderson) Blackwell was the daughter of John Goode Henderson and Jane Blakey. She married Jediah Blackwell, the son of Jesse Blackwell and Sarah Miller, on February 20, 1817, in Franklin County, Georgia. They had fourteen children: John, Rebecca, William, Jesse, Mary, Jane, Sarah, Hamilton, James, Andrew, Eliza, Jasper, Elizabeth, and Nancy. They farmed in Lumpkin County, Georgia and joined the Yellow Creek Baptist Church there on September 14, 1844. They moved to Rusk County, Texas in 1855. They farmed there until their death.
