Jinx came to our door tiny, emaciated and sick. I thought him to be just a small kitten but after our first trip to the vet, she said he was much older than he appeared. His birth date was estimated by the vet.

He came to us weighing a little over three pounds. Within the first week he had put on just about a pound and I was hopeful for his survival.

Jinx was a loving, dark grey, almost black cat. He loved to nap on top of the converter box for the satellite television (I guess because of the extra warmth). His purr was so loud it sounded like a buzz saw. He loved human company. One of my other cats, Sugar Baby, kind of adopted him and would groom him and keep him company.

After enduring shots and several rounds of antibiotics, it looked like Jinx might have a fighting chance. Unfortunately, he begged to go outside and when we let him out, he didn't return. He went behind the old barn, laid down and went to sleep and never woke up. As with most animals, he knew his time was up and wanted to be off alone.

After Jinx came to us, he knew love. He knew a full bowl of food. He knew how nice it is to sleep on a down comforter!

It cannot be said enough.....Please spay or neuter your pets. This should not have happened and it was through no fault of Jinx's that he became ill and his "original" parents were uncaring enough to seek him medical attention and dump him like he had no value.

God love this little cat.

A huge THANK YOU to Ryan for sponsoring Jinx's memorial! My gratitude for the kindness and generosity will not soon be forgotten.
