RAY E. DAVENPORT

Ray E. Davenport, 76, of Inman, died February 23, 1982, at Hutchinson Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born October 23, 1905, at Perry, Oklahoma.
He married Evelyn Blessing October 8, 1934, at McPherson. He had lived in Inman since 1933. He was the owner of the Jack and Jill Grocery Store in McPherson, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the McPherson Masonic Lodge No. 172.

Survivors: widow, of the home; son, Ray E. Davenport, Jr., Inman; daughter, Mrs. Donna Netters, Moore, Oklahoma; brothers, Troy, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Eldon, Sun City, Arizona; sister, Mrs. Velma Humphrey, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren.

Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman; Pastor Don Bosworth. Burial at North Inman Cemetery, Inman. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel. Memorials to the remodeling fund of the church.
