Rhoda was a daughter of Luke Perkins & Susanna Cary.

She was married on 12 Oct 1853 at Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine, by Thomas N. Lord, to Hiram Dinsmore.

They had 4 children: Ellen Augusta "Nellie" Dinsmore, married Charles Edwin Greenleaf; Albert N. Dinsmore; George Wesley Dinsmore; and Freddie Dinsmore.

All are buried in Brookvale Cemetery in Auburn.
