The daughter of former Crimson Tide football player and current Ardmore High School head coach Shannon Brown is among the victims of the deadly storm that swept through Tuscaloosa on Wednesday.

Loryn Brown was killed when her apartment was leveled by a powerful tornado that devastated much of Tuscaloosa.

According to the Wetumpka Herald, Brown was a student at Shelton State Community College that was enrolled to begin studying at the University during fall 2011.

It is believed Brown died from head trauma.

Brown's father played football at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa under Gene Stallings and was a member of the 1992 National Championship Team.

WETUMPKA — Loryn Alexandria Brown, 21, a resident of Wetumpka, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. May 2 at New Home Baptist Church in Elmore with the Rev. Rory McQueen and the Rev. Walter Batyski officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home directing.

Survivors are her parents, Dewayne and Ashley Mims of Wetumpka; Shannon and Michelle Brown of Madison; grandparents, Rex and Carolyn Denham of Wetumpka, Jerry and Ann Brown of Greensboro, Wayne and Anita Mims of Jemison, Bobby and Hilda Collins of Greensboro; great grandmother Libby Ruth Thornell of Eclectic; two brothers, Parker Mims of Wetumpka, Collin Brown of Madison; three sisters, Holly Mims of Wetumpka, Anna Kathryn Brown of Madison, Anna Lynn Mims of Wetumpka; aunts and uncles, Steve and Kelley Brown of Millbrook, Jimmy and Stephanie Richey of Greensboro, Chris and Christie Denham of Kalua, Hawaii, Lee and Amber Collins of Demopolis, Mark and Stephanie Mims of Jemison, Nikki Mims of Jemison and several cousins.

Active pallbearers will be Clayton Jones, Dustin Ward, Steven Preyar, Trey Wade, Brian Bishop and Brandon Tribble.

Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Mims, Collin Brown, John Michael Richey, Eli Richey, Chad Richey, Joey Denham, Jarrod Giles, Dustin Mims and Brady White.

The family request memorial contributions be made to The Loryn Brown Scholarship Fund at The University of Alabama c/o Regions Bank.
