A friend from childhood. Did not know him too well but his two brothers Charles and Howard were near my age and pals of mine. He was the son of the late Garland A. and Effie Swanson Worley, and the husband of the late Pauline Moss Worley who died October 7, 1979. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served on the USS Willard Keith. Surviving are his wife, Viola Maxine Whaley Worley, a son, Glenn Edward Worley of Warne, a sister, Frances Matheson of Gastonia; five brothers, George Worley of Murphy, and Eddie Worley, Lester R. "Curt" Worley, Charles Worley and Howard "Buckeye" Worley, all of Hayesville; two grandchildren, Megan Michelle Worley and Anthony Seth Worley. I remember as a child how Harold would play his Hawaiian Steel Guitar from the porch of his family home when he returned in summer for vacation. Everyone could enjoy the wonderful sounds on a late evening just about dark.
