Mobile Police Officer Christopher Levy said confusion over DeBlase's statements initially led investigators to believe that the boy was the first to die. In reality, 4-year-old Natalie DeBlase was last seen in March 2010, just months before the disappearance of her 3-year-old brother, Jonathan DeBlase, in Mobile, Alabama, in June. Their stepmother was arrested December 1, 2010, in connection with their disappearances. On December 8, 2010, their father gave police information which led to the skeletal remains of little Jonathan in Vancleave. Natalie's remains were recovered and are buried in the same cemetery where her brother Jonathan Chase DeBlase is buried.
