For radio, she is best remembered for starring in the series "Beulah" and "The Great Gildersleeve". From 1951 to 1953, she was a comedy favorite on television appearing as Madame Queen on the "Amos 'n' Andy" show. She also appeared in featured roles on "Sanford and Son" and "The Jefferson" in the 1970s. Her film credits included "Gentleman From Dixie" (1941), "Three Little Sisters" (1944), "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946), "Once More, My Darling" (1949), "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (1964) and "The Onion Field" (1979). Actress Amanda Randolph was also her older sister.
