ALMA M. ALEXANDER, 86, of North Port, Florida died Wednesday,
September 13, 2006 in Port Charlotte.

She was born January 29, 1920 in Trinidad and Tobago, British West Indies and immigrated to the United States at an early age. She moved to North Port in 1979 from Hempstead, NY. Alma retired as a New York State toll booth collector and was registered nurse who loved to help every one. Member of the San Pedro Catholic Church. Alma was blessed to be welcomed into the home of Carmen Townsend, her caregiver and nurse for the past 12 years. God bless everyone who helped Alma, especial, Stanley, Carmen, June and family, and Beverly and family.

She is survived by her adopted brother, John (Norman Jean) Lewis of Port Charlotte; a nephew, Norman Lewis of Orlando, FL; 2 daughter-in-laws, 7 grandchildren, 11 grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by two sons,
William and Joseph Moses.
