Clarice Mae Odmark of Cambridge died peacefully after a brief stay at the Grandview Christian Home on Sunday, August 6, 2006 just short of her 90th birthday.

She was born on August 24, 1916 in Braham to John and Cora Soder. After her mother died when she was young she lived with relatives in Iowa and then in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge High School and worked at Cambridge State Hospital for several years.

Clarice married Earl Odmark in 1942. They lived east of town where she and Earl raised their family. Clarice thrived on caring for her family and others. She found pleasure in gardening, cooking and sewing. She and her husband enjoyed many foreign travels in their later years. Clarice was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed women's ministries.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Carlson and husband Paul and John Odmark of Cambridge, Heidi Odmark of Minneapolis, Susan Kaasa and husband Larry of Roseville, stepson Jerry Odmark and wife Beverly of Maplewood, her grandchildren Nathan Carlson, Leah Pechacek and husband Dave, Naomi Carlson, Emily Hoisington and husband Daniel, Phil Kaasa, Jeff Odmark and Scott Odmark and wife Renee and great grandchildren Erik and Elise Odmark.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 11 at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Paul Lundgren officiating. Bill MacKinney, accompanied by Claudia Hardy, will sing "My Savior First Of All" and Beyond The Sunset. Pallbearers will be Nathan Carlson, Naomi Carlson, Emily Hoisington, Dan Hoisington, Phil Kaasa, and Leah Pechacek. Interment will be in the North Isanti Baptist Cemetery.
