Ted Mulry was born in England and was best known as a songwriter and later frontman for the Ted Mulry Gand or TMG.When Ted came to Australia he worked as a bulldozer driver and wrote his own songs.In 1970 he had a hit with "Julia" and late "Falling in love again"
Ted form the Ted Mulry Gang in 1973 and played Bass guitar and sung.In 1975 TMG put out "Jump in my car" and it became a number 1 hit.The band had many successful singles such as Darktown Strutters Ball,Crazy, Jamaica Rum and Disturbing the Peace.TMG went on many tours and went all the way around Australia visiting towns that never had rock bands play there before (or even since)TMG had a cheeky song called 'Dinah' which was always played at their concerts.They were on COUNTDOWN many times.
In 2001 Ted announced he had brain cancer and there was a big benefit concert for him.He was so sick,but so brave. He was a joker all the way to the end.He was a true Rock legend.The TMG fanclub was one of the biggest in Australia.
Ted passed away a day before his 54th birthday.Teds legacy wont ever die and a new generation of fans will keep his music rockin to the end.
