Morris Avery was a very special man. He was self-motivated, a gambler in more than one way. He was a Pioneer in flying and owned AVERY AVIATION, the largest private owned flying business in the USA when he died. His special talent was the helicopter. He spent hours accomplishing amazing feats that no one else had done to save people, horses, fight fires, etc. for his state and home town as well as other parts of the USA. But most of all he loved his family. His first love and marriage brought him daughter Ednis Marlene Avery Smith who is the widow of a NWA 747 Captain, Reba PLET Johnson, his beautiful second wife gave Ednis a sister, Lynne Avery Meeker Small and a brother, James Robert Avery and made a home and family. We all adored Dad as did the grandchildren. He never joined a church but this man was more Christian than most. We miss him but thank God for his example and love and willingness to take that risk and gamble in his short life.
