Gilliland on Nov. 29, 1917 in Etowah County, Alabama and they lived for the rest of their lives in the home that owned by Delia Harris Evans Smith Gilliland, located at 1402 North 4th Street, Attalla, Etowah County, Alabama. Delia Harris Evans (Dec. 08, 1872 AL - Jan. 16, 1962 AL) and Thomas Oliver "T.O." Gilliland (Oct. 21, 1860 AL - Oct. 03, 1935 AL) did not have any children together by their marriage.
Ruth Earleen Smith married first to Henry Daniel "Dan" O'Barr. They were married on Aug. 20th , 1924 in Attalla, AL and they had one child: Thomas "Tom" D. O'Barr, born Aug. 04, 1925 AL and died Feb. 09, 1993 AL.

Roy Hilt Barclay (July 06, 1907 AL - Jan. 22, 1988 AL)remarried to Edwina Flower Bowlen shortly after the death of Ruth Earleen Smith O'Barr Lee Barclay on Apr. 04, 1969, and they lived in the home that had once belonged to Delia Harris Evans Smith Gilliland (Dec. 08, 1872 AL - Jan. 16, 1962 AL), located at 1402 North 4th Street, Attalla, Etowah County, Alabama.
Roy Hilt Barclay died Jan. 22, 1988 and after his death, the home at 1402 North 4th Street, Attalla, Etowah County, Alabama, and the additional land and house, that had once belonged to Delia Harris Evans Smith Gilliland (Dec. 08, 1872 AL - Jan. 16, 1962 AL) became the property of Roy Hilt Barclay's second wife, Edwina Flower Bowlen Barclay. Edwina Flower Bowlen Barclay died Feb. 01, 2014, and I do not know if she sold the home at 1402 North 4th Street and the additional land and house before her death, or if it was left to someone else after her death.
Between the 1930 and 1940 census Ruth obtained her Cosmetologist License and started working at a Beauty Shop in downtown Attalla, AL. In the 1940 Census, Ruth and Roy Hilt Barclay are living in her Mother's home and Henry Daniel "Dan" O'Barr and their son, Thomas "Tom" D. O'Barr are living with Henry's Mother, Elizabeth Strickland O'Barr Houge "Mama Houge".
Aunt Ruth was a Cosmetologist and had a Beauty Shop on Fourth Street in downtown Attalla, AL for many years until she retired. Aunt Ruth was a devoted and active working member of the Northside Baptist Church and she made, with in her lifetime, substantial contributions to the Northside Baptist Church (which at that time located across the street from Ruth's Mother's home on North Fourth St. Attalla, AL). Aunt Ruth was thought highly of, by those who knew her and loved deeply by her family. She passed away in the home she grew up in, after a very hard battle with lung cancer.
