Steven Bradshaw Boyce chose to return to his Heavenly Father on January 2, 1997 after enduring severe depression for over 20 years. With his good humor, generous nature, and warm personality, few were aware of the challenge he faced each day.

Youngest son of Jean Bradshaw and Alma Houston Boyce, he was born April 2, 1954 in Salt Lake City. Steve grew up in Parleys First Ward where he was and Eagle Scout and a seminary graduate. From his youth he enjoyed sports - from Little League baseball to the Highland High's tennis team. He also enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing and cycling with friends. At the University of Utah he was a ski instructor and an ASUU student body officer. He graduated with a B.S. degree in communications and the next year earned a degree in finance.Steve served in the Roanoke, Virginia mission where he was assistant to the president. Reticent about his own accomplishments or self worth, he gave of his time and talents to help those around him, often to those who were disadvantaged. He was a member of the Monument Park Singles Ward where he sang in the ward choir and participated in many excursions with friends. Steve was born with a tender spirit and the creative know-how that enabled him to fix or make most anything. He enjoyed music and played the guitar well.

Steve will be greatly missed by his friends and family, especially his devoted parents, his brother, David (Julie), Salt Lake City; his sisters, Carolyn MacKenzie (Ian), New York City, and Barbara Timothy Bowen (Gordon), New Canaan, Conn.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday January 8, 1996 in the Parleys Ward Chapel, 2350 South 2100 East. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Tuesday 6-7:30 p.m. and at the ward chapel Wednesday, 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
