Virginia worked with the War department during World War II as a civilian. She was very proud of the service she gave her country. She and Gene moved to McAllen, Texas in 1955 when he joined the Border Patrol. They moved back to Terre Haute, Indiana in 1968. Virginia was well known in the community of Terre Haute when she worked with United Cerebral Palsy. Working with those children touched her life and they forever had a place in her heart. Virginia had a very strong faith in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout her life. This was shown through her deep love of animals and children.
