My father worked for AT&T until his retirement. He had many stories of his childhood growing up in LaMonte Missouri. He was an only child, but had many friends. He met a man that was my mother's uncle who introduced the two. Shirley Barclay. They dated for about a year and decided to get married. They were married June 4th of 1960. My dad always talked about how hot it was that day and it held the record. My father was hired on at Western Electric in 1963, where he retired from in the late 1980's. He and my mother had 5 daughters. He loved cats and fed all the cats in the neighborhood. Anytime we went to a store, someone would talk to him even if they didn't know him. He usually had a smile on his face and had a laugh that was jolly. He had a simple faith, but was not a church goer.
