Dr. DiCastro began his medical career at the County Hospital in Rome, and later joined the Internist Group of Rome. After his retirement from private practice, he became the Medical Director for the Central New York DDSO, retiring in 2009. He was also very involved with local sports, where he served as the sideline physician for RFA football and ring-side physician for the New York State Amateur Boxing Association and various professional wrestling events.
JJ was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at his summer home in Sylvan Beach. He looked forward to Wednesday afternoons with his "Lunch Crew" at La Roma's. JJ also enjoyed emailing his many friends along with photographing his grandchildren.
JJ is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, sons, daughters, grandchildren, siblings nieces and nephews, and many friends that love and miss him very much.
