Motion Picture and Television Screenwriter. He was best known for his association with Woody Allen and co-wrote the features "Take the Money and Run" (1969) and "Bananas" (1971). Born Michael Rose, he was raised by a single mother in Brooklyn. While attending high school, he formed a friendship with Woody Allen (then known as Allan Konigsberg) and the two would share a goal for which entailed involvement in the entertainment industry. This led to them enrolling at New York University where Rose attained his degree in film (Allen dropped out). After Allen established himself as a sketch writer with Sid Caesar, Rose was added to the staff and in 1966, he co-penned the screenplay for Allen's debut picture "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" Individually, Rose served as a staff writer for the "Dean Martin Show" and contributed stories to "All in the Family", "The Odd Couple" and "Too Close For Comfort." Additionally, he was a staff writer for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" (1978 to 1984).
