Thinking of you very fondly on the 71st anniversary of your passing. We've been talking about you a lot today. I love you even though I never met you. Very proud to be the great granddaughter of such a wonderful and beautiful lady. Rest in peace, Grandma Effie.

Effie Faustena Bertram was the daughter of James Alvin and Cora Lea McWhorter Bertram. She was born July 7, 1916 in Clinton Co., KY, presumably in the Cartwright area. She united in marriage to Edwin Joshua Anderson from Piney Woods, and had a handwritten note from her mother for permission to marry him. To their union, four children were born: Edwin Snow Anderson, Donna Sue Anderson Beck, Sherman McWhorter Anderson and Earl Rex Anderson. In the spring of 1941, a coal stove in their home exploded. Effie was burned badly, and later died on September 29, 1941 due to burns and their complications, which also lead to pneumonia. She was a beautiful red head and is still greatly missed. -Kendra L. Leveridge, great granddaughter of Effie Anderson
