One of your sons was Brig. General Lewis Addison Armistead who led Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg. You come from a long line of great military leaders including Lt.Col. George Walker Armistead who was in command of Fort McHenry in June 1813 and is responsible for having the BIG flag made that Francis Scott Key wrote about in the song The Star Spangled Banner. I am so proud to be in the Armistead lineage. The comment photo is of your son, Lewis. Rest peacefully, brave soldier. Much love and respect.
