Obituary: Rev. Donald L. Craig, 53, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Lenexa, passed away Sunday, October 27, 1996, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Calvary Baptist Church; burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Amos Family Chapel of Lenexa. The family suggests contributions to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
Rev. Craig was born February 9, 1943, in St. Louis, to Roy and Beulah Oller Craig. He moved to this area in 1974, when he became Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, where he had served for the last 22 years. He also volunteered as a Chaplain for Shawnee Mission Medical Center and the Lakeview Village Retire - ment Center. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ottawa University. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in March of 1963 at Calvary Baptist Church in St. Louis. He received a Master's and Ph.D. in Christian Counseling from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan, AL. He married Gloria J. McDowell, August 22, 1964. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Randy Bartel, Overland Park; two sons, Michael Craig, Lenexa, KS, and Matthew Craig, Manhattan, KS; his two grandchildren, Caleb and Emma Bartel; two sisters, Judy Lamb, Lee's Summit, MO, and Gerri Hartman, St. Charles, MO.
