Phyllis enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table and eating meals together with her family. She also enjoyed antiques, and going to flea markets. Phyllis especially loved her children and grandchildren.
At the time of her death, Phyllis was grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 on the way.

Funeral Services were held on October 2, 2012 at at the Sheridan United Methodist Church in rural Malcom, followed by burial at Sheridan Cemetery in rural Malcom.
