Wilhelmina "Minnie" and Heinrich "Henry" Beier, natives of the Kingdom of Prussia, immigrated to the United States with their four sons in 1857, and became residents of Blue Mound Township, McLean County, Illinois. The four sons were: John, the eldest; Frederick, a resident of Chenoa, Illinois; and Charles and August, both farming in Blue Mound Township. A fifth child died in Prussia. (Bio. of John T. According to an East Prussia church record, Wilhelmina Meierin, born on 27 Oct 1813 and baptized on 31 Oct 1813, was a daughter of Eleonora Weberin and Wilhelm Meÿer. (German feminine surnames were formed by adding "in" to the end.)
