TREMONT --- The Rev. Elbert H. Alford, 99, a retired Methodist minister, died at 2:30 p. m. Monday at Pekin Public Hospital.
His funeral was at the Tremont Methodist Church, the Rev. Ronald Colton officiating.
He was born Jan. 19, 1863, in Iroquois County, Illinois.
He married Mary Gertrude Bicket of Sibley, IL when he was assigned there as a pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church. They had three children.
He had been a charter member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, from which he graduated.
