JANESVILLE - Genevieve Frances Doran, age 88, formerly of 225 Milton Avenue, Janesville, died Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at St. Elizabeth's Home. She was born in Janesville on August 1, 1909, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Fanning) Doran. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Janesville High School in 1928. She was a Janesville resident her entire life and had been employed by Parker Pen for 15 years. Ms. Doran served in the Women's Army Corps from 1943-1965 where she held rank as First Sergeant. She was a member of the United States Womens Army Corps Museum Society and Veterans Association, and also of St. William's Catholic Church and it's Altar Society. She was formerly in the Janesville Women's Golf League, and had been active in the Janesville Little Theatre from 1935-1943. Ms. Doran is survived by a brother, Thomas J. Doran of Madison; special friends, the Defabio families of Michigan; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m.on Saturday, January 24, 1998 in St. William's Catholic Church with Reverend Del Klink officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
