Billy Jo Brooks, 80, of Malvern died Thursday, September 13, 2012. She was born November 5, 1931 in Malvern, AR to the late James Elbert and Mordica (Cunningham) Paul. Billy Jo managed "The Down Towner" for years. She then worked for the Arky House for a long time. When it closed she went to work for the Shoe Department in the mall before she retired. She was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church in Magnet Cove and had been enrolled in the Ladies class on Mondays. Her minister, Shaun Holland and his family were very special friends to her. She loved her church family and they came to check on her every week. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Brooks, her brother, James Elwood, and her sisters, Glenna Faye Sparks and Ruby Jean Stem.
Survivors include her brother Elton Houston Paul, Sr. (Becky) of Malvern, her sisters Vernice Heard of Malvern, and Shirley Glenn of Hot Springs and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
