RELMA STRICKLAND, 77, of Prichard, W.Va., passed away Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Akers officiating.
Relma was born February 7, 1935, in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Roscoe Perry and the late Mittie Fry Pauley. She was a retired shipping clerk from American National Rubber and served her country in the U.S. Air Force. She was a member of the Smith Memorial United Methodist Church in Prichard. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Murphy and two infant brothers. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Lee Strickland (Cheryl) of Kenova, W.Va., and Eric Ross Strickland of Prichard, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Timothy Ruff, Taylor Strickland, McLean Strickland, Devon Strickland, Isaac Dean and Kathryn Dean: and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Nikki, Lois, Miriam and the rest of the staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their special care of Relma during her final days.
Visitation will be from noon until service time, Thursday September 13, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
