Mrs. Ardoin died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 29, 1999 at Opelousas General Hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Francis Bourgeois will conduct the services.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Janet A. (and her husband Jess) Henderson of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Jennifer Henderson of San Diego, Calif., and Jeffrey Henderson of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Judy Johnson of Eunice and Betty Hernandez of Baton Rouge; four brothers, John "Ray" Bourgeois of Tyler, Texas, Joseph "Blanco" Bourgeois of Lake Charles, Glen Bourgeois of Church Point and Tommy Bourgeois of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Colvin J. Ardoin, a brother, Bertrand "Bert" Bourgeois and her parents, John N. Bourgeois and Evelyn Thibodeaux Bourgeois.
Mrs. Ardoin was a native of Church Point and a resident of Opelousas most of her life. She retired from West Brothers Department Store in Opelousas as a sales clerk with more than 20 years of service. She was a volunteer companion for many years at Opelousas General Hospital and was a member of Life's Champions.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and will resume Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers are: John "Ray," Joseph "Blanco," Glen and Tommy Bourgeois, James Johnson and Patrick Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers are A.J. Fontenot and Gene Hernandez.
